Clapper board (If the sound and video recording is done separately a clapper board is necessary in order to link up both files in editing.)
Roles:
Producer - The producers role is to oversee and organise the project from start to finish as its their role to deliver the final product.
Director - The director also has the role for overseeing the project however is responsible for the creative and artistic view rather than more complex tasks the producers role requires.
Cinematographer - The cinematographers role is anything in the camera frame involved with mise-en-scene, this also includes sound sometimes, when the sound is taken or attached to the camera.
Editor - once the editor receives files their responsible for keeping it safe, this means they are responsible for making copies of the files before editing anything. The editor cuts files, mixes sound and grades the project.
Sound recordist - The sound recordist is only on set/ hired if the sound is not recorded along with the visual footage.
Digital Imaging Technician - The role of DIT is everything to do with files, this means transferring all the memory cards arranging them renaming them and setting everything up for the editor.
Important think to consider - The memory cards are not suppose to be wiped until its backed up in more than 2 places.
Assistant editor - Helps establish the cut
- when the role of the editor doesn’t do it the assistant will, such as…. (this may be because hiring the editor will be to expensive to do task such as these that are time consuming, so hiring and assistant can be cheaper )
- Bringing all the files
- Setting up the software
- Categorising the files
( very similar to DIT)
